:rofl2: :rofl:

That's a good one. For some reason I don't think the females on the board will find it as amusing.

I wasn't really meaning to slam the lovely ladies on our site...... :( .....I just thought it was funny. If it truly offends any of you ladies, just change every feminine to masculine and it'll still work. 8) Funny is funny! :lol:

Hey Chris , good one!
If someone gets offended , thats their problem. Thats the issue today , its not personal ,its a joke ,hopefully to brighten someones day with a laugh! If I used someones name in the joke , thats different, then its personal & meant to hurt , But a joke is just a joke, a laugh , not intended to hurt.
We are all travelers in this world , from the sweet grass to the packin house , birth till death , we travel between the eternities . ( Robert Duvall as Prentiss Ritter)

You know you're an Okie when...

1. It doesn't bother you one bit to use airports named for 2 men who
died in the same grisly plane crash.

2. You can properly pronounce all of the following, and without
laughing: Eufaula, Pushmataha, Okemah, Tishomingo, and Chickasha.

3. You know all 4 seasons by heart: Tornado, Summer, Still Summer, and
Christmas.

4. You readily understand the difference between 3.2 and 6.0 beer, and
know what a "beer run" to another state is.

5. A tornado warning siren is not necessarily cause for alarm. (It's
usually just your signal to go out in the yard and look for the funnel.
Fun for the whole family.)

6. You are 100% Okie if you've ever had this conversation with a friend:

"Y'all wanna Coke?"
"Sure."
"What kind ya want?"
"Dr. Pepper."

7 You can't always remember which year your sweet Mama was born, but you
can rattle off the years of all the "terrible hot" summers in your lifetime lickety-split.

8. You understand at least 5 of the 9 following concepts and expressions:
dry county;
The B.C. Clark Christmas jingle;
"Once saved, always saved.";
"Go Sooners!";
"Shoot far (fire) and save the matches!";
liquor-by-the-drink;
Vacation Bible School;
Peppered cream gravy on everything, please, Ma'am;
"Just open all the windows and git in the bathtub."

9. You know how to identify at least 5 varieties of venomous snakes on sight.

10. You understand that Oklahoma is a Southern, Southwestern, and
Midwestern state-all at once and this is not a contradiction in your
mind.

11. The local paper quickly covers national and international headlines
on the front page, but requires 6 pages for sports and 2 pages for local
church news.

12. You don't find it in the least bit odd to see "chicken fried
steak" on a menu.

13. You know which state has a "My-am-muh," and which has a "My-am-ee."
(Miami)

14. You remember the profligate wealth of the Oil Boom, and you
fervently pray for those days to return.

Well I guess since I've lived here all my life you can call me an Okie. Just ask and I can sing you every word of the B.C. Clark jingle. (My kids, who are okies, laugh at me every December.) :lol:

And the oil boom is here again. Just don't know how long it will last.

And the phrase isn't ' Shoot fire', it's sh*t fire and save the matches! :lol:

The steak Purists think that grilling is the only way to cook a steak. My wife can pan fry one that beats grilling all to heck. And, I love chicken fried steak in gravy.

No Paul, you're just on the other side of the globe!

Chicken fried steak is a piece of meat which has been pummeled into tenderness, breaded and deep fried. (never did figure out where they got "chicken" fried though) Okry...........is really a vegetable call okra. Tastes great when breaded and fried. Both of these dishes are popular in the Southern States..............and Southern Central.

Thanks for that Chris. Cajun(spelling) Chicken is about all I've tried. They tell us over here that this is a southern American style of preparing and cooking.
Cheers
