Body to frame attachment

I plan to use 2X2 3/16" tubing for my frame, and I have seen a number of threads on attaching the walls to the floor, but I can't find the preferred technique for attaching to the frame.

I have seen plates welding horizontally on the frame so that a bolt can go through the floor, but that is only thing that I can find. Drilling through the frame seems like a bad idea - weakens the frame and hard to seal. I don't like going through the floor because drilling through the floor provides an opening for water to enter. I live in the Northwest where it rains a lot, so I can see water coming in at highway speeds ruining the floor material (plywood).

What method are you using?

If you are really worried about water intrusion and don't feel silicone or spray on bed liner or fence post coating will offer enough protection to those 6 - 8 intruding bolts perhaps you might want to think about a halo of 2x4 or 2x6 aroung the frame. This perimeter of framing lumber can be attached to the side of the frame in several manners multiple small metal screws or larger self tapping tapered bolts or drilled and bolted. The floor can then be attached to the halo and as a couple of additional benefits the frame is hidden giving your trailer a low rider look and some what larger side profile as well as another method to attach the sides.
