I felt it here in Hanover, PA! I thought I freaking out, until the guy in the office next to mine said something.

Yup. We felt it here in Connecticut also. The office building shook pretty well.
I know it's not much compared to what you folks feel in California, but it's sure got folks on the East Coast rattled! :R We're only used to crazy snow storms here.

My sister on the north side of Indianapolis felt it. She said her building felt like it was bending in the middle.

I didn't feel it. My dog was looking up at me at that time, but I was eating. I don't think she cared if the floor was moving--she was hoping for people food.

where i live i expect hurricanes and a rare tornado. but not an earthquake. now as long as no tusnamis hit, we are ok. we are on a penisula, water surrounds us, so please no tusnamis.

and please don't let that hurricane hit us this weekend.

Per a flash on CNBC, no tsunami is expected.

Good luck with the hurricane.....they're still not sure about that one.

All is well with my area (DC burbs) after the earthquake. The gov't bldg I was in was evacuated. I went home. Nothing fell off walls. All else seems intact.

Hugs,

Some broken knickknacks and minor stuff here at the office. Some furniture shuffled around a bit, and some light fixtures askew. Nothing major, but it was definitely scary. Apparently some structural damage to buildings in the area and downtown, though.

Traffic is already a mess with everyone leaving early out of Tysons Corner, where my office is. I'll be stuck here for a while. Thank God for vending machines. Swedish fish and goobers for supper, anyone?

Hope all is well with everyone else in the area. :o Safe travels home.

The epicenter was at Mineral, VA, just 30 miles from here. I only have crooked pictures and some CDs and books in the floor. No damage. :)

Hey Slow, why don't you take a break. This thread is about the earthquake on the East Coast, not your air quality.

I am here in Charlotte North Carolina and I did not feel it at all. I asked other people at work and nobody else felt it either. I am about maybe 6 hours drive to DC. I think if it was bad I would have felt something. What East Coast time did it hit?
