My new land (3.5 ac) has a completely unimproved acre parcel completely wooded across the creek. I will be clearing out this area to be a mini campground for myself and gatherings. Still at home but far enough away to be "away"... Gonna be great...

let us know when it's ready we all could use a nice place to stay when in Dallas

I definitely will! It is not in my possession yet, but the deal has been agreed upon this week and I am at the final stage! We might end up having a gathering there before even "I" move in! there is already a nice clearing where my trailer will go. Hmmm... That actually might be a neat idea.

Thomas I was kidding but after seeing your clearing it does look inviting.

I belong to another club where we make our home places available for overnighting or a short stay.

I have a driveway where you can park and hook up to water and electric no sewer connection.

does this site have a trading spaces forum?

even though I'm trailerless at this time if anyone needs a free space to park pm me.

I very recently started doing this again...just got married in Feb, and acquired some daughters (two now in college, one turns 9 this weekend). Got a brick bbq in the back yard, and we decided to build a "campfire" in it and make s'mores a couple of weeks ago. Ended up pitching the tent, and Emma (almost 9), my wife Elisabeth, and I spent a couple of nights camping out.

The plan for next weekend is to take the teardrop to a local state park and set up camp (with a side tent of some sort for Emma), drive home, and the three of us will hop on bikes and ride out to camp for a night or two.

Unfortunately, I built my 4x8 teardrop as a single guy...might have to build an addition.

We've done this. When the kids were younger, especially - I'd set-up the tent in the back yard and we would make s'mores in the outdoor fire place. Read 'em a book and put in the tent. Then, middle of the night, get thirsty or need to visit the necessary room, just walk in the house and come back out, as needed. The lids loved it. In fact, we really ought to do it again soon.

We've also camped places close to homes. When you're at a camp close to home, you can say geez lets go to the walmart and get a loaf of bread or more beverages,

That's what I used to think before I met Elisabeth...and even for some time after

But this way I got to choose my kids.

that thing bugs me to death. I am scared than a million bucks to meet a single gal with kids and aquire a family that I didn't make.

and it seems all the single gals age 36 are coming with a ready made family.

am I the only single guy that is wanting to start a family from scratch!!!!!!!!

I still can't see how people to get out of being single can take on a family that is not theres and all the divorce arrangements and the trips every dang month or 2 weeks to take the kids half way to see the ex.

Slow, lucky for you alot of men ditch their responsibilities and leave the little ladies to fend for themselves, no visitation, no support, no nothing. There are plenty of single mothers out there and those kind of women are the women who deserve the most respect a good man can deliver.

I wouldn't mind meeting the right woman who has children because they will most likely be in their teens. I like this because you can have a conversation with them, and you don't have to deal with diapers and little humans who haven't learned to speak yet.

..but yes, to the topic of backyard camping, All you gotta do is face away from the house to be away from home sometimes!

I started going to Rockford then to Osh Gosh way to many years ago.
