Anastasia SP and St. Augustine Amphitheater

Postby bmacke » Sat Aug 27, 2011 11:53 am

There's this Duran Duran concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheater on Oct. 13th.

The Wife (girlcop) loves Duran Duran, so we MUST go.

We have reservations at Anastasia for Thursday the 13th- Saturday the 15th (through Sun was booked).

We've never been to Anastasia-- we understand it is wonderful.
The question is... Does anyone know the proximity of the amphitheater to the campsites? Is there a path/trail so we can we ride our bikes or walk to the concert and back or do we need to drive out and around?

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

You are in luck, There is a back way into the amphitheater parking lot from the campground road opposite of camping loops. It is a short walk and the gate is usually unchained. It is an automatic vehicle gate so just push on it and it will open enough to walk through.

I've also taken a chair and sat by the fence close to the stage in the woods when I didn't have tickets. Couldn't see but the sound is great. Usually you will be in the company of several of the park rangers and many campers.

Hope this helps and happy camping.
