the trouble with having a neat shop is all the trips you missed going back to the store for things you know you have but just can't find them...

well you will find them but it'll be months later and the project is long forgotten.

I also emailed Rick at TrailerShowroom.com with some questions and he was helpful and responsive. I was told by another company that the internal wheels (narrowed axles) could not be installed on a 6 or 7' wide trailer and I have never actually seen one until you posted this. A 6x14 might fit my plans, but a 7x16 with narrowed axles is only 4" wider than my truck (Dodge diesel) and will fit my plans a lot better.

Did you get the galvalume roof? I look forward to seeing how you build this out.

Here is the window frame for the 18x60 front picture window. It is made of marine-grade aluminum. It is now at the autobody shop getting and epoxy primer and a dark grey top coat. I expect the tinted impact glass to arrive later this week and the glass company will install the glass into the aluminum frame.

Yes, your shop does look like a showroom; but one with lots of collectible oil cans to delight on-lookers. That looks like a nice hobby in itself!

Your trailer looks like it is going to be top-notch, just like your showroom - uh, I mean shop! Excuse me while I drool in awe.

when towing this 7 x 14 did you find it necessary to use any type of anti-sway device?

My tow vehicle is a 1997 Chevy S-10, V-6, with 325,000 miles. I installed a Reese load equalizing hitch. I also have the companion friction sway bar but have not installed it yet. The trailer tows like a dream.

I rewired the entire trailer running lighting system. It came with the snap on connectors. I changed everything to Sta-Kon brand crimp connectors and used the Sta-Kon crimp pliers. Inside each crimp I added a bit if dielectric grease and then covered it all with waterproof heat-shrink tubing.

Where the wires from the light came thru the wall frame I first added a piece of heat shrink over the wire. Then I sealed the drilled hole with silicon while positioning the wire in the center of the hole for maximum abrasion protection..

All trailer running lights wiring is run inside the trailer (not under the frame) in a space on the top of the walls that will be accessible with a removable cove molding.

Where the wiring comes from the hitch there will be a fuse block in the front of the trailer with a fuse on each of the incoming wires. This way if something does short out on the trailer signal, tail lamps etc. The fuse in the trailer will blow and NOT take out the lights on the tow vehicle.

I filled in any gaps on the trailer with foam in a can. The door frame had a channel all the way around that I could not get the rigid foam into. I also foamed the area where the roof joists are attached to the walls. After the foam hardened i trimmed it with a serrated knife. Finally I taped all of the seals with the silver foil air-conditioning tape.

The paneling is up. The white paneling is bead-board and will be painted a darker color. The darker paneling will be painted a color lighter than the bead-board. There will be a chair rail separating the two. Around the top will be a removable cove molding. The regular plywood is in concealed storage areas and will be also painted.

The two pieces of 1x2 with the blue tape on them is the front edge of the counter top.

Today I furred out the ceiling and installed the 5mm plywood ceiling. The butt joint between each panel is tight enough that no batten strip will be required.

After I go it all up I took down the panels, leaving the furring strips in place.

When I am ready to paint, everything comes out and I will set up my visqueen spray booth in the garage and shoot it all with 2 coats of 50%-tinted primer and then two top coats.

I made a full size template for the counter-top. This way any out-of-square in the walls will be accurately transferred to the plywood top material. I still need to pick out the color for the Formica.
