Miriam: Thanks for your concern, after what you have been through!! I am lucky, we are 20 miles north, and about 35 miles west of where the flooding starts. However, there are members here that live in the current flood zone.
The major flooding in NY is in the Southern Tier, and the Mohawk River Valley. Some of the same places hit with the hurricane 2 weeks ago are again flooding!! Several counties have states of emergency with travel restrictions, roads closed, along with schools and businesses.
All our local volunteer and paid Fire departments are sending crews to help after just coming back from the hurricane clean-up.
It sure has been one interesting year around here. Record snowfall of 195", record rain in the spring during planting season, record number of days over 90* this summer, record dry spell in July, and now an earthquake, 2 hurricanes, Tornado's, and to top it off, record flooding.
It seems the whole country is in for extreme weather. Right now Texas is on fire and Southern NY, and Norther PA just got 10 inches of rain! With all the natural disasters that have already happened throughout the country this year, I hope the hurricane season, that is just getting started, spares everyone.
