New One of a Kind Teardrop Trailer "Video Added"

Here is the latest teardrop trailer being built by the Five Wide Club. Unfortunately it's 4' wide not 5'. It's being built to be towed behind Wally's three wheeler. The side is going to fold out and he will sleep sideways in it. The rear opens up so he can stand up in it. It's going to be completely hard sided aluminum.

Cool build Keith!....it'll be great behind Wally's trike. You guys always come up with something out of the ordinary. So is the plan to have it together for the Dam this coming year?

Hey Doug,

It should be done well before that. Wally is pretty excited about it so it will probably be done in the next couple months. As far as ratrods there isn't any new ones in the works. We changed engines in both of them this week so that was fun. I'm going to be working hard on the Nash Metro that we bought from Lee for Sheila. Maybe we'll pull the teardrop up to Shasta behind it.

What in general are you doing to the Nash Metro? I drove one a bit back in the late 60s and can't remember it having a plethora of power. My dad now has one in his auto collection. But I can't drive it as my belly no longer fits behind the wheel.

Hi Randy,

The Nash now has a Mustang II front suspension with disk brakes and tubular a arms. It has a Ford 9" rearend with 3.0 gears. It has a 4.3 liter Chevy V6 from a Chevy Astro van and a T5 five speed overdrive transmission from a '84 Chevy Camaro. It should have a little more power than the original engine and handle a lot better.

There's absolutely no problem a four foot wide trailer. If you noticed our group name, "Five Wide Club" you can see the point. This is the eighth teardrop trailer we've built and it's the first four foot wide one.

Hi Keith, Roly here, you know, from the 40 inch wide club! However, I am tinkering with a 3 ft wide, 3 ft long teardrop. So, I guess there will be a 3 wide club in the future. You guys are stealing my stuff though, since my 3 wide has a fold out, tip down side, with an extended drawer for my feet. Hurry up and Git-er-done, can't wait to see it in person. Come on now, isn't there gonna be just a little wood showing on your build?
