First camping trip in the trailer.

Postby Amrva » Mon Sep 12, 2011 5:11 am

Hello everyone,
Finally got a chance to take the trailer I built earlier this year camping. We camped at Big meadows campground in Shenandoah national park and the weather was perfect. I was a little worried about towing at first but everything went great, had no problems going up or down the mountains.
Here are some pictures for anyone thats interested.

That is such a pretty area and to camp and wake up to that - what a first outing.

Congratulations on your first outing! That's a clever front window...didn't expect to see a body sticking through it. You'll be able to get a lot of air moving through that.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your first trip. :applause:

Fun isn't it? You did a really good job. Noticed some things in this pic:

Image

First, you look remarkably like my nephew-in-law.

Second, your hatch window (great idea BTW) looks remarkably like a camper top rear window hatch. (got one that looks just like it that I stole some side windows off of for our build)

Third, ....the level jacks...are those recycled car jacks? If so, that is an awesome idea. Been thinking about replacing my old originals. Are they stable?

ps. Thanks for the trip scenery pics. Hope to see that area one day.

Thanks for all the compliments and good feedback everyone.

Pete42: Yes I feel like its all I expected, I would like to add alot to it but it serves its purpose.

Woodstramp: They are old car jacks, I went to a pick-a-part and found 4 of them the same. They work great so far, very stable too.

Eaglesdare: No, I didn't happen to see a green tear while I was camping, maybe next time :)

There are some more pictures of the inside in my older post.
