Covers

Postby notned » Mon Sep 26, 2011 10:32 pm

Hi all, I have a 5 by 8 weekender teardrop. I'm thinking of a car cover type cover for it for the rain season. I tried the search function and struck out, so if this has been previously discussed sorry about that. We could do it again, or just give me some links and tips on the searching. Thanks guys.

There was a thread on tonight about covers. You could also try Paha Que. They make tents and covers. Or, on that other thread, they were discussing using car covers.

Looks like some folks use a Walmart car cover. They have them in all sizes, materials and price ranges. That is what I will probably do when my tear is finished as it will be stored outside.
I actually just bought one of their mid-priced car covers for my son's car since he is away at college. I am fairly impressed with the material and quality so far. We'll see how it holds up through the winter....

I've found them here:

http://www.mightycovers.com/RV-Covers/Teardrop-Trailer-Cover.htm

but cheaper on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Forest-River-Teardrop-Trailer-Cover-11-13-1-Rpod-/270790705319?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0c6240a7http://www.mightycovers.com/RV-Covers/Teardrop-Trailer-Cover.htm

I saw the Mighty Cover on their website but decided against one because it was a bit pricey. The ebay price is much more manageable.
Thanks for the info!

Has anyone tried one of these on a small tear like a 5X8 . I bought a cover for a VW beatle the measurments seemed that it would work but it is short on the sides wont cover the fenders.

Might want to check some other threads re: covering. Seems like I saw something about covering sometimes causing delaminating. I think it was covering with a tarp that caused the delamination, though.

it would be so nice if we had a search available where we could put in "covers" and all the threads on covers would come up at once.
