How many miles per year?

Postby mechmagcn » Wed Sep 28, 2011 1:12 pm

I have been figuring up my mileage so far this year on the TD. So far I have pulled it over 6500 miles and have one 1500 mile trip planned for next month. I was just wondering how many miles everybody averages on their trailers a year?
If nothing drastic happens between now and next spring, I plan to put many more on my camping rig, we're headed to AK! :D My route should take me a little over 11000 miles if I don't leave the road for side trips... and we all know there's got to be something interesting down some of those roads

For us only about 2000-2500 a year.

Hopefully someday we can have more time away from work to go more places.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

I haven't had my teardrop for a year yet, but so far I've towed it 2300 miles and slept in it 17 nights since I got it last Feb. I hope to get one or two more two- or three-day trips before the year's up, but.....

Because of gasoline prices, I limited myself to trips of a couple hundred miles each way, and since I'm retired I camp mid-week, so 3-day trips are my most common trips so far.

Who knows what next year will bring... maybe Alaska, maybe the South....

Have used a teardrop for the last 3 years( 3 different trailers) and have logged about 25000 miles. First year basically went to dirt races in the midwest. Last year made an 8000 loop through the upper midwest, to the northwest, down the west coast. this year went to Alaska, 12000 miles by the time i crossed Canada west to east to get home. Use my trailer locally to go to races that are only a couple hours away.

It used to be a lot, but not so much in the last few years. Only went to Minden this year, so it was less than 1000mi. Last year I was IRG and Last Gasp so it was less than 2000. Just an estimate, but I probably have around 20,000mi on my trailer.

this thread got me thinking, that one of the things I'd like to do when I have my trailer is to keep a calendar inside and when ever I spend the night mark it down as well as where and how far.

I carry a journal and write down a little something about every trip. If it is a busy trip, just a line or two. If I have time to just relax in the sun I might write a whole page.

I do this because I found my Granddad's journal and really enjoy reading about the miles he traveled with his family!!
