Around here farm raised beef is in demand and a full beef will go for $2000-$2500 processed and ready to go in the freezer.

Farmers markets are a booming business and we're going to go in "halves" with someone to share a half beef that will feed our respective families for a year.

Texas is in a major drought and my ranching buddies have been driving 400 miles one-way to Arkansas to get round-bales.

To the uninitiated if anyone in Texas says their beef is grass-fed they are probably telling a story as there is no grass for the cows to eat right now and hasn't been for quite a while.

Hang in there Slow, those of us that have the means to support our local farmers and ranchers will do everything we can to do so.

My wife and I buy everything we can at our farmer's market and what little they don't have we either do without or buy a little here and there at the HEB (Texas supermarket that supports local farmers/ranchers/fishermen).

I think ya need to try thinking positively. Life is hard. The gov't isn't responsible for everything.

Sounds like you got a pretty great life. You are spending your Dad's golden years with him! You are healthy and you are not homeless.

I don't comment often, but geez your posts are depressing.

We've all got it rough. But we are enjoying life with what we have.

Think about it. I don't need all the reasons why you've got it so bad... pack up your Dad and move if you need to... but only you can make your life better. None of us are owed anything... it's up to us to make things happen.
