New wind generator

Postby BrwBier » Fri Sep 30, 2011 7:29 am

I got this idea while traveling through Ohio, Il when I was on vacation recently. It is kind of big but when the battery is fully charged I can reverse the blades and it adds about 13MPG. With that advantage and the inital cost it should pay for it self in about 1,012,300 miles and 279 years.

1) Yeah but can you keep it from lifting off?
2) I'm not entirely convinced you'll live to see it pay off.
3) How many birds have you minced?
4) Does it lower so you can clear the occasional overpass or bridge?
5) Do your neighbors in the campground appreciate the noise?

Cheers,

Gus

Have you seen much of a drop in gas mileage?

Looks nice! Its uncanny how well your wind turbine matches those larger turbines in the windmill farm behind you.

1. If you look close you can see the scientifically engineered shape of my teardrop for more down force
2. I don't know if I will live to see it pay off, but it increases the resale value
3. I don't call them minced but a supply of fresh poultry is a plus I didn't even consider
4. No, you got me there, but my GPSR routes me around any such obstacles
5. And this ones true, I stood not 100 yards from them and did not hear any noise. 250mw field with 114 generators, mighty impressive. I believe it is "Big Sky Wind LLC" near Ohio, IL :)
(I'm not sayin the rest aren't true, but #5 I would swear too)

Holy cow, only 250 mW, I'd be expecting at least 1,000,000 times that output for an installation that size.

Good thing I've got my investments tied up in solar!

Bob, any problem clearing the overpasses, or do you stay on the side roads?
