Keeping up

Postby Gage » Sat Oct 01, 2011 1:43 am

Seems like there are several members buying new pullers (tow) to put in front of their tiny trailer or teardrop. So, as to keep up with the Jones’s I went out and bought me a new puller. Got a 2011 Ford Edge. Timing was right. End of year and end of month = Get rid of those 2011 models and being the end of the month the dealer wants a good count which in turn makes for a good deal. What do you all think (boy that's asking for trouble).

I like that - Looks about the right size.

I like the Edge it is a nice size. I vote for a paint match with the TTT. Which one I don't know.

The wife of a buddy of mine was in a bad head-on collison in a Ford Edge about 8 months ago.

The car was completely totalled, but she walked away (the car literally crumpled around the passenger compartment, which remained intact).

Which is an awesome testament to the engineering that went into this vehicle.

They now own another brand-new...
...Ford Edge.

He says its the greatest car he's ever owned and can't sing it's praises enough.
Pretty lofty plug; coming from this guy...

Now that's a nice looking ride, Gage. I guess I am still into my old high-school thinking, either you are a Ford or Chevy guy. I figured I might need a lower milage puller too, so I went out and bought a bright red, 2012 Chevy Cruze. Can't hold a candle to the pulling power you have in the Edge, but I am looking forward to the smell of a new ride and the much anticipated (if true), 40 mpg. Wow, I didn't think I would enjoy XM radio like I do, with that great sound. At last, I will be able to find it in a Walmart parking lot, where most of the cars are silver, like the Camry. As far as comments, Gage. O think you "did good", even if it is a Ford. :-)

We love ours. Rides nice, tows very well. Stops on a dime with the 4 big disk brakes. Has more than enough power to pass or go up steep grades. Bad side gas milage its no where close to the sticker. I know you dont have the midwest snow to deal with but due to being front wheel drive and a wide stance it really handles well. This one is our second one and prolly buy another some day.

Looks as if you have the smaller tires on yours. Good choice.
Ours has the 18 tires and its a fricking oddball size. Cheapest tire for it was 285 bucks each. Grrr

I had an Edge rental car in Pittsburgh a few months back. It was loaded, and I liked it a lot.

Did you go AWD?

Let us know how it feels with your Dalton hooked up. Edge has a 3500 lb. tow rating. I think it would look good with hot rod flames painted on the front!
