I want a vardo,,, well kinda

Was at the Minesota Rennaisance Festival today and my daughter and daughter in law got to talking about costumes for next year and the wheels started turning. Kids were fussy about being stuck in the strollers (only 1 year old) and I thought a wagon would be more comfortable. Dogs are allowed and my Lab Great Dane mix could easily pull them in a dog cart for a short time and hmmm, small trailer,

So I want to think about building a dog cart open top for the kids to ride in. Be fun at the festival and just for fun.

But never tried to design anything and not real sure about actually building something but knew where to ask.

need ideas suggestions and so forth. Light way and thinking bike tires for the wheels. Maybe foam walls?

If I could build/buy the covered wagon base and somehow design/build the sides to look like a gypsy wagon. My thought is the kids would sit on benches inside but their heads would be above the roof, so the walls would be low. I want it to look like it has a roof on it but of course it would be open in the center.

Does that make sense? Hmm, wish I could sketch it.
