Recommendations for roadside assistance

Postby Aaron Coffee » Wed Oct 05, 2011 4:19 pm

Thinking of getting somekind of roadside assitance policy as it looks like I may be doing some weekend traveling next summer. Looking for opinions.
My criteria are:
Cover towing my motorcycle in case of breakdown
Cover towing my trailer/teardrop in case of breakdown
Hotel and other discounts would be a definite plus.
PRICE
Had Good Sam roadside assistance for a year(introductory price, then rates double)never renewed it after that.
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.

I have AAA RV Plus.

Will tow vehicle and camper.

To me it is worth the peace of mind in case of trouble.

AAA RV Plus also pays for air-lift to the hospital, should you break a leg, have a heart attack, etc.

AAA plus RV is the way to go. If your tow vehicle breaks down, they won't unhitch and leave your trailer on the side of the road.

I had AAA when my transmission went out towing my 25' fifth wheel a few years back. They towed the whole rig - truck, trailer and canoe to my house for me. A+

Well, that depends on the tow Company. I lost a wheel on my truck while towing a utility trailer this summer (don't ask, it just goes to hell once in a while).

They loaded my truck on the roll back and hooked the trailer to the draw bar and towed me (and Becky) home. Did they have to? Who knows.

State Farm Insurance with a great tow company and agent!!!

(of course, I am in rural B.F.E. Population 400)

I've noticed the ad's for this on TV as of late. I don't have it but am considering it as the price is right.

well, you didn't say who your insurance is with, but i would start there. they may have something available, or it might already be in your policy.

assuming your not with "fred's house of discount insurance" or something.
