warming my butt at the stove again and over sized spuds!!!!

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Hey Slow, you sound very content tonight. Maybe a good nights sleep will top off the day. Some times life can be good even when you don't have a stack of hundreds on the table. But you have the basics of life. A warm home, great food, and parents that love you. Life is Good!

PS. Don't forget about a Wyoming gathering next year. You had a good start and some interest. Strike while the iron is hot.

It's good to hear you're happy tonight, Slow. :applause:

Take those extra spuds and make 'em into a German potato salad: a little bacon and sliced onions fried up with the leftover spuds; some vinegar and maybe a dash of that honey in 'em.... Yum!

Or, make a cheese sauce and pour it over the slices and bake them long enough to warm it all.

Use them to make tomorrow morning's hash browns or Potatoes O'Brian, with peppers and onions.

Okay, that's three or four ideas.

Remember to plan the Wyoming camp gathering for a time when you don't need to be working day and night in the field!

slowcowboy. oh, by the way what do I do everybody with all them taters I can't eat??????????? I think me and dad are only going to be able to eat a half a spud tonight!!!!!!!!!!

This reminds me of the time that my Mother sent me out to get a potato from my Great-Grandfather for the dutch oven ... The reply he gave me was, "Good hell boy, I'm not gonna cut one in half." as he dug through the tater barrel and handed me an appropriately sized spud with a wink in his eye. I was a young teenager and still had to use both hands to hold it. He grew the good ol' Pontiac reds that were waaayy bigger than anything I've seen in the last 30 years, and without a hollow core too. I miss the cranky ol' codger...

And Mr.Cowboy ... May you enjoy the warm stove, the good company, and the food from the earth and the sweat of your brow ... BTW good taters warm up well for breakfast too.
