How about sleeping with your feet towards the front, that may allow you to use that room a little.


Then put your mattress up a foot off the floor and build a big slide out drawer that has your gear in it? Combine that with the use of a chuckbox maybe.

you guys are awesome with ideas! I m going tonight to check on it and mesure the inside and see what could be done. I think a slide out at the back to extend the sleeping space/kitchen might be the best option.

But nothing like looking at it in person to have a good idea.

What is the lenght that someone 5'9 needs for sleeping comfortably without your feet and toes touching the wall? 6 feet?

You have to allow for the fact that you wouldn't sleep with your head touching the headboard and that you would point your toes when you sleep. A standard mattress is 75" for a twin, 80" for a queen.

You might consider putting the bed in the back, and adding doors to the sides of the V-nose for a galley on one side and storage on the other. It would depend upon the length of the body behind the V being long enough for the bed.

A plus factor to the cargo door is that you could easily load your tri bike in there out of sight and out of the elements while on the road -- just set up the mattress to fold in the middle and push to the side to roll the bike right in.
