Whatever happened to REAL hardware stores?

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

If you think it's tough to find a real hardware store, you ought to try to find a real auto parts store! The last one that comes close is French Camp Auto Parts in French Camp , Miss. One guy that knows what you are working on and what you will need. Bless his soul; when Bobby Gene is gone, who will fill his shoes ?

There is a franchise of True Value Hardware in South Orange County, CA, called Denault's. I've been in 3 stores. 2 are what you'd expect of a True Value or an Ace. The one in San Clemente, however, is like a scene from yesteryear. Floor to ceiling shelves, stocked to the limit with rare or hard to find items, along with an old guy who is the only one that knows everything in the store and where it is, and what it's for. I love that place!
God Bless
