Rain in TX YAY! Time for a leak rest!

Postby 2bits » Sun Oct 09, 2011 12:23 pm

We finally got some water (at least in Tarrant County), and it has been raining at my house since last night and looks to continue all day so I thought it would be great chance to pull the truck out into the rain and give the camper a leak test! There was some light evidence of prior leaking, so I wanted to see if that was a concern or not. Either way I think we are all glad to see some rain comin down!

Great news!!!!! After you guys not having rain for so long, it would be so nice to just sit with the window open listening to the rain drip.

Fill the rain barrel!!

Here in the San Antonio area started yesterday morning, then got serious last night and today, more of the same. Water dearly needed, but threat of flash floods everywhere. Need the water, but not at the cost of human life. Am loving the day though!

Yes, it is nice and cool, and I just left the door open for a while!

Camper passed the rain test too!

That is awsome.

My recentely completed trailer is sitting in the driveway undergoing the same test. So far no leaks.

I've leak-tested tents by putting them next to a lawn sprinkler before. But if you're in an area without rain, the local officials are sure to be unhappy about watering the grass...

What a lovely day! First true rain in a YEAR. Amazing to wake up at night and hear rain. Hoping that it will make at least a tiny dent in amount of water in the Highland Lakes, which supply drinking water for a lot of people.

I've had the PT out in the open for several weeks since I made my video of with the pop top up to test it for leaks. We've had some pretty hard wind-driven rain lately and I haven't seen a single drop inside the pop top. I guess my design for weather-proofing it worked. I am preparing for a one-night maiden trip next week. When I return from my camping trip, I'll probably put it back under the canopy and put my bass boat where I can use it until the next trip in late November.
