are we wore out from camping all summer??????

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

here's why for me

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Wed Oct 19, 2011 11:59 pm

:) For me Slow, I speed up my life in the fall as I'm back to school. I have been in the third grade for over 29 yrs. now, so things pick up considerably for me in my home/professional life. Places to go, people to see, things to do, property that needs tending to....so I try to limit my time on the web and will post less as now I visit multiple websites & maintain friendships on other forums ( as well as two that Dean and I have) . I still sleep in my teardrop every now and then even though it is in the garage more during the late fall & winter.

Unfortunately I spent so much time fixing/finishing Compass Rose that we only got out camping a couple of times with Tearjerkers. Like Joanie we are restricted as Nancy is a fourth grade teacher and while we have June July and August that is basically all we have as once she is teaching the days for her start at 7AM and finish some time around 9PM when she is finished grading papers.

Didn't camp all summer because I was rebuilding TD. Now the camping begins. Actually, it began a couple of weeks ago at Sebastian Inlet State Park, with what I can only describe as a perfect road-trial of the trailer.
Happy trails,

We got a late start here due to a heavy snow load last winter, but I managed to get in a total of 27 days of camping since May 1. If it weren't for having to move my store in the next 2 weeks....I'd be camping this weekend. The shorter 25-50 mile trips to a campground make for more camping time and less fuel/driving time, so I can get out more often. Doug

Only one trip so far this year. Between waiting for our TD to be done and family issues, it's been a long, home-bound summer. But all that's about to change! Heading to Pocomoke on the eastern shore of MD tomorrow for a gathering. Big, wooded site right on the river...sounds like therapy to me. :campfire:

Happy fall camping, everyone! It ain't over 'til it's over. :snow

We've had three outings in the last two months. I plan another in a couple weeks to go canoing. It's the short weekend trips that I'm using to help me fine tune our camper for the longer week long beach and mountain trips in early spring/summer. The move up to a CTC have greatly enhanced my trips and how much I need to not worry about taking. :)

Now If I could just pull my boat trailer behind my camper I'd be really happy.

Mrs. Dog is back teaching second graders how to read and write. I've had a bunch of new business fall on me. We're in for the winter but looking forward to caming again next year.

A trip is coming up soon. I'll be testing out the bunk heater after coming back tired from doing some volunteer work. I signed up for a couple days of trail building in a state park.

Early next year, I have an invitation to head down to CA, get some sun, and do some pine thinning. That one depends on the frequency of storms, although I could meander down 101 and cross over in a warmer place.

I live where people come to camp. So, I guess I camp all the time? but with all the comforts.

Just starting, we love to camp in late fall and winter. No crowds, no bugs and much cheaper state park fees. :P

I slept in the trailer 18 nights this summer (none of them at home), a new camping record for me.

As the rainy season approaches here in No. Calif. my camping activities are being replaced by trailer projects. I have a long "To Do" list that is just waiting for me to get the trailer pushed into the garage.

I took the trailer camping five times this summer, covering almost 2,500 miles and as I said 18 nights. This is three times my previous camping record for a summer.

Loving my teardrop, and looking forward to even more camping trips beginning next Spring with the DAM Gathering.

I am completely burned out on building my teardrop. So I have been collecting Coleman stuff while I get my mojo back.
