I'm never tired of camping, but my girlfriend doesn't share quite all of my enthusiasm. Alas, I have sold my teardrop and have just started on the next.

I have had 5 trips since the beginning of the year and have two more scheduled before the year is over. I hope to fit a couple more unscheduled before I start concentrating on next year.

I just got back from Eminance Mo., Don't have a T D as yet but saw two on the road. One on 19 was silver witha red swoop on the side, the other I can't remember but, it was west of Eminance and had a bike on the T D.

Both were going in the opposite direction and I didn't se much of them.

Whoops, almost forgot. There was one sitting at the put in on the 11 Point river. Black in color. No one around so I didn't get to close. The door I saw was windowed. It looked real nice from a distance.

9 nights in the SideKick this summer, 4 in the tent before I got the SideKick. I want to camp more this fall, but probably won't. I started a part-time job last month that has me working Monday and Friday evenings, and Thursday mornings.

Now, my older sister will be "yamping" in my side yard in the SideKick this weekend. I've considered yamping, but I just haven't gotten "roundtoit". My Verna-do list doesn't seem to be getting any shorter

Like a previous poster said, I go t kinda burned out working on it so much early in the spring and summer.

I thrashed on it very early spring in order to make a gathering in April. Had to take it with one door screwed into place because the seals weren't in, and a tarp for a hatch, but we made the event.

I busted butt on it again for a couple weeks in order to make the next teardrop gathering nearby. This time I did have the both doors working and a hatch in place.

Then a bit more time to work on it and we took it out the weekend of July 4th. Had a great time then even though it wasn't completely done.

The rest of the summer was packed with something going on just about every weekend, including a recent two-week trip to the Netherlands.

We did have hopes of getting it out one more time here in October but now I've got it tucked away in the garage. It's done for the year, I'm afraid.

Knowing us, though, cabin fever will set in over the long upcoming winter and we'll be ready to get back out there in April / May. I won't have nearly so much work to do on it this spring so I probably won't get burned out on it next year!!!

Got to go camping once in early June. Then everything closed down due to fires and severe fire conditions. Once everything reopened, it was just too blasted hot. Now the td is sold so I don't know when I'll be camping again.

I fell your pain. We usually do a lot of tent camping and all the forrests in SE New Mex were closed as well due to the fires. Maybe next year?

We've had three outings in the last two months. I plan another in a couple weeks to go canoing. It's the short weekend trips that I'm using to help me fine tune our camper for the longer week long beach and mountain trips in early spring/summer. The move up to a CTC have greatly enhanced my trips and how much I need to not worry about taking.

Now If I could just pull my boat trailer behind my camper I'd be really happy.

I'm designing a boat to ride in the truck in front of the teardrop cabin.

that work for a boat that is about 8 foot if you allow a 6 foot bed. and that jacks and other trailer tongue items aren't in the way.
My canoe is 15'5" and my kayaks are 14's. So.. I have to put them on racks above my CTC or on top of a SUV or Truck. Car Topping has not working on the last trip and rather than un-pack and swap I just unloaded them. we cycled instead. sighs. I have to improve upon a two or more carrier on top of my camper trailer.

I have a 4 feet long tongue on td and can carry 10 feet long boat as long as the bow is properly shaped.

Mo and I still have plans for quite a bit of camping. We are going up to the Flagstaff/Williams area this weekend to see the fall colors and do some bicycle riding. Shortly after that, Mo is going on a "Sisters on the Fly" campout at Joshua Tree Park.

For The week of Thanksgiving, we will be in Death Valley with our 4X4 trailer. We have been wanting to go there for some time now. After that there is the Buckskin campout on the first week of December and early into the next year, we plan on going across the old Mohave Road trail.

As much as work will allow, we will be out camping. I would be out more now but we are busy getting our firewood in and getting some training in for a bike ride in November. There isn't really an off season here. We just look for areas that are comfortable for the time of year we are in.
