5x12 teardrop for sale or trade

Postby atkryder » Mon Oct 17, 2011 2:02 pm

5x12
5000btu a/c
Lots of storage
About 90% complete
Growing family family forces me a different direction. I have lots of photos email or text for them. Interior paneling has some warp due to leaky hatch. Covered by a tarp for now. Has tons of storage and will fit a queen size mattress. I have full size one in there now. Will trade for a popup or standee that is big enough for wife baby and dog

Nice looking rig. As a family man this will no doubt be the first of many trade offs!

Just some constructive feedback...

Pictures make all the difference when trying to sell a $3,000 item. It's what captures initial interest (or not).

Your first post mentions water damage from a leak and your fix was to put a tarp over it. To me that's a red flag. One of the main reasons that most people get out of a tent and into a camper is because they do better in the rain/weather. You might want to fix the leak or if it's already been fixed and the damage is only minor you may want to (again) post pictures so a potential buyer can better judge if it's a deal-breaker for them.

As a teardrop/TTT shopper I typically bypass posts like this because there's just not enough info, and I don't want to have to contact someone offline or even via email to get what I consider to be basic information.

Please don't read this as anything but constructive feedback in answer to your question about no interest so far. I think a more informative ad will get you more interest. Good luck with it!

I agree with internet pilot. I just sold our old 1972 Boler on eBay. I posted an extremely detailed description and 20 pictures. It sold for a great price and by the end we had 99 watchers. (And it is a wreck, but I was honest and stated that it is a wreck.) But still, I also answered over a dozen more questions. People want information, information, information. And pictures are critical. I think our brain defaults to "what is wrong with this thing, is it so bad they don't want to show what it looks like?" Also, most buyers are not down the street where they can drive by and have a look, and may have to travel some distance to purchase so those pictures are their "initial inspection". Write yourself a very descriptive ad, including everything there is to know about it, good and bad (people appreciate honesty above all else) and post lots of pictures and it will be sold in no time.

Ok so let's try this again
I started this project about three years ago. The profile is a streched mondernaire The walls are are 3/4 plywood. The ceiling is 1 1/2"'spars covered with 1/4" birch. Insulatulated with foam. The floor is 1/2 Plywood with 1/2 foam insulation then 1/4 ply. The bottom is coated with black asphalt fro
Lowes. Axle is a Dexter torflex #9 2200lb. Is has a 5000btu ac hidden inside. You might notice the vent on the left hand side behind fender in pic. It only has 120v power 30a panel. It has a small dorm size fridge. It will fit a queen size mattress The passenger side door needs hinges and handle installed. The leaks came from the hatch hinge I used a pianio hinge and didnt seal it properly. It warped part of the paneling on the inside I will post pics. I do not have time to finish. My wife is I'll with lupus so I need something that she can get in and out of easier and that is finished I will entertain trades or offers. I will post more pics ASAP. Please post up any more questions. I will do my best to answer

Thanks
Seth
