Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Order now or later

Postby digitek718 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 1:53 pm

Ok so I know what I want and I think Im getting a pretty good deal on it..The impatient side of me is telling me to order right now so I could get my new toy as soon as possible..The sensible side of me is telling me to wait until January to order so that it will be ready to pickup sometime around March when the weather is starting to turn(takes about 8 weeks to build). If I order it now it will be ready sometime around January and it will have to endure a New York winter and I will have to worry about covering it somehow and removing the snow..Not to mention it will probably be too cold to get any real work done..If I order it in January and get it in March that will be one less winter in its lifetime..It will also leave a nice big cushion of time to make sure I am certain that what I think I want in a trailer is what I actually want..I guess Im talking myself into waiting..but I want it now!!!

If you're ordering a Cargo Trailer ... they are built to be left outside full of tools or cargo etc. If you want it get it.. the price may change in a few months. Just don't cut the skin and install anything over the winter IMO.

It took me months of research and visiting various dealers before I even asked for my first comprehensive quote on a trailer in the middle of September.

I also wanted to perhaps wait awhile and take delivery of the CT in spring. However living in Canada, we are at the mercy of the Canadian vs US dollar exchange rate and right now it is almost par so I decided to order the CT and the trailer should be here in mid to late December.

If you work at a job with down times for the holidays, it would make sense to get the trailer sooner so that you can use that time to work on it. As long as you're not going through the walls or roof with any of your mods, I imagine that an electric space heater could keep the interior bearable enough to work in. The last thing that you'd want to do is be building your trailer next summer instead of enjoying it, so get cracking.....

worked 41 years If I had waited until for just the right time
I would never have become a ham radio operator, bareboat charter holder, motorcycle owner,
airplane owner, travel trailer's owner, sail boat owner, house owner you get the idea don't wait.

having said that I'm now almost 70 with failing health I am waiting to buy a cargo trailer so don't wait do it now...........

Do your homework first as BC did, but get it sooner rather than later. Even having a "completed" (it wasn't) teardrop, it was not till I actually had it that some changes and goals started to gel mentally.
