I think it is a great thing to try and think like the poster when a poster asks a question. We are here to help people live the lives they want to live within the bounds they are comfortable with.

Are you suggesting that a larger ball and hitch are necessary to have the trailer hold the tow vehicle from falling off the edge of a cliff???

The blue panel van has a class one hitch on it. Proof positive that class three hitches cause drivers to drive off cliffs.

We could really have some fun with this, but it would be mean spirited, and that is not what this forum is about, so we should probably redirect :)

You could tow a 100 pound trailer behind a Peterbuilt and get into trouble if you don't know what you are doing. I've towed with many unibody vehicles in my life, and they do no differently than fully framed vehicles if you know what you are doing.

Used to tow a pop up with a Dodge Caravan. No problems. Towed a cargo trailer with my 1973 Jeep, many many miles. Nary a bit of trouble. Watched a full size Ford tow a camper (little bigger than a Scotty) and he flipped it right over on a straightaway right in front of us. Likewise, had a tail-wag-the-dog experience towing a fishing boat with my Clown Vic because I was speeding. :BE

Slow and steady is the way to go, downshift when you can, and do no vehicle maneuvers that could cause a glass of water to spill and you'll do well with that Ford Moosewang. Good brakes and shocks are mandatory.
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross the road without having his motives questioned.

Would bet though guy sitting in cab wished he could get out and close tonneau cover.....
