I am very interested in building an off road tear drop with adjustable air bag suspension, currently laid off, so build is going super slow, but I will start a thread and post Pics as soon as there is something to take pics of, until then, here is my tow rig

Very cool to see a new member from Central Washington. It's good to see that you have a tow vehicle picked out. Winter is almost here so it's a good time to build.

You should be able to tow anything with that. Wouldn't make a tiny teardrop though. Might look ridiculous behind that tow vehicle.

Welcome.

Welcome to the forum and it looks like you have the perfect hauler for an off-road trailer. (my only off-roading, is backing my teardrop off of the asphalt and onto the grass at a campground). There is a fellow on this board that has built a teardrop that can be hauled up a rock bolder-strewn creek bed. Here is a link to his website: http://www.outbackteardrop.com/

Nice articulation on your minitruck. Those remind me of an old skool R/C truck I used to have the "Bruiser". Too bad I don't have it anymore because they are going for lots of money now.

Stole this pic of a bruiser (actually I think it's the Hilux) online.

Nice Goal

There are many off road tears out there. Check out AT trailers and SoCal trailers. Both build a very nice tear and may give you some ideas for your own build. The challenge is keeping it short, with sufficient ground clearance and not let it get top heavy.

I have an AT Horizon and am very happy with it. The tears are too short for me to stretch out in. To build one long enough for me would make it too long to be effective off road. You can build a trailer that will go anywhere your vehicle will go if it is done right. Good Luck and keep us in the loop.

RE: Air Bag Suspension

Postby mezmo » Sat Oct 29, 2011 8:45 pm

Hi ColemanCooler,

Welcome to this great forum.

Check out asorenson's build here. A truly great effort and result and has
his self-built air-bag suspension set-up. Pg3 has the suspension pics.

Happy inspirations.

Cheers,
