Tool Boxes

Postby Forrest747 » Thu Nov 17, 2011 11:03 pm

Hey Jennie got a nice new mixer and in fairness I am able to get a new toolbox.

So what toolbox do you have and are you happy with it?

I am looking at the craftsman combo

if you are going to invest in a upright tool box at least get one that has roller bearings on the drawer slides. if you dont you will regreat it later, i have a kennedy at work and 2 snap ons at home and an old sears they all have the roller bearings and they all still work fine and the kennedy is at least 30 years old

hope this helps

I just bought the Harbor Freight US General Cabinets about 2 weeks ago. After reading a ton of positive reviews, I went to the local store and they were in stock. I must say I am AMAZED with the quality. I expectd an ok cabinet, but got a great cabinet (roller drawer slides and the works) for an amazing price. I owned a Mac Box of the same size (stolen)and then Craftsman boxes to replace the stolen box. I will NEVER spend the money on craftsman boxes again. This box is amazing, period and more than half the price.

Well today I went to Harbor Freight to look at the toolboxes and found the one I liked. Got it home and put it together. I am happy with the price and the slides look good.

We bought this unit for our garage. The only gotcha is that the powder-coating is flat red, and not gloss red like other toolboxes. The warehouse worker at HF was kind enough to drop it into the back of my pickup with their forklift, but note that the shipping weight is over 600 pounds and plan accordingly for getting it *out* of your truck when you get home. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.....

I totally agree it only came in Red. Well since that is the wifes favorite color how can she not be disarmed when looking at it. It also matches the nice red hand truck we got from HF.

It was such good therapy finding my tools and putting them in the toolbox. they have been kind of scattered all over in the garage. Found tools I have not seen in years.

With the flat paint it would probably be easy to repaint the Harbor Freight box to Coleman Green.....just saying

I also have these. Have had them for about 5 years now. Very good and a great deal for the price. I used 20% off coupons and bought the top and bottoms seperately making them an even better deal.

I also bought one of these.

The pictures on the website make these cabinets look smaller than they are. They are huge, lots of space.

Each time I go to Harbor Fright I look at their boxes. They are the highest quality at the lowest price. One day I will pull the trigger and buy one. I have my old (1972) Craftsman boxes. They have served me well for all these years. I bought a Craftsman side box a few years ago. Junky, non roller slides. Bad investment.
