Rain

Postby nrody » Sun Nov 20, 2011 8:15 pm

Rain today in SoCal. Have not checked the weather report to see how long it will last. Tried to pack the Red Dale for Buckskin with some essentials, but I will have to wait for it to let up. Hopefully tomorrow :(

Slow, guess you will be able to work on some of those red lantern 12v conversions if snow is keeping you indoors.

Every drop you don't want can be sent straight to Texas. We need all we can get.

Don't head north. Sounds like we are in for a smiting this week. But that's a normal thing to happen around Thanksgiving.

Hey.......waittaminnit.......some of the nastiest rain I have ever driven in has been in Central California. And coming from a very long time Washington State person, thats saying a bunch. Northern Cal is a lot like home, but I have even had to pull over (no, really) in the "southern" part. One trip I had over an inch in my VW (wasnt really well sealed, though).......watch out for watcha say, eh?????? (but when its nice, its nice)

I love the rain we get here. Until I have to go out and do something in it.

I camped in my Little Guy in a deluge for the first time. It only rained at night.
The rain was too noisy so I used earplugs. The tinny fenders seem to be the worst for deafening noise.

Now, I am trying to figure out how to modify my REI canopy tent to stop it from storing up rain. Today would be a good day to test different configurations except I don't have the parts to try them out.

We have a LG Silver Shadow and have camped in some pretty hard rains with no noise as you describe, but we have fiberglass fenders. Might I suggest that you look into replacing the metal ones with fiberglass. Might be a bit spendy, don't know, but do know a good nights sleep priceless.
