Gage, Lake Skinner is about 20 miles south of Lake Perris, about 6 miles east of the intersection of the I-15 and the I-215 and about 15 miles from my place in Wildomar. No swimming allowed, but boating and fishing are very popular. It is part of the water storage system, just like Perris and Diamond Valley Lake. I'm leaving early Fri morning with the Stacker in tow behind my 2012, 4 banger, turbo Chevy Cruze and am anxious to see if their claim of 40 mpg is accurate. I'll be traveling along with Canned-O-minimum and his Little guy and his old V Dub, with the maniquins in the back seat. I guess we all have to have a theme, and he's got a bunch of em. Looking forward to seeing you at the river........

P.S. Backing up the driveway was a real challenge in the snow, I slid all over even with a 7,000# truck and 4 wheel drive.

I will be building a 1946 Salsbury scooter to race across country in April. The Scooter Cannonball 2012 starts in Savanah Georgia and ends in
San Diego California.

I will also be cleaning up a few of my lanterns and a stove or two time permitting.

When I built the trailer, I wanted to go camping at least once a month.
Living in so cal, that is not a problem. Lot's of places to camp in the desert. It would get down to freezing and that is about it.

But things have changed.
Start work in Salt lake City on Monday. Taking the trailer with me after Thanksgiving and putting it in storage for a few months until we find a permanent home.

Hope to move the house sometime in January. Then spend the rest of the of the winter getting things set up in our new home (and my garage) and in spring start camping in a whole lot of new places.

As others have posted camping season is all year round, although towing a trailer on icy, snowy roads can be challenging so I normally tent topped it.

Thanks ... the first couple of nights weren't bad in the middle 20's, the last night dropped into the low teens, that was cold.

We have a couple of trips planned to the Cross Ranch State Park. One trip will be spent in a log cabin and the other in a yurt.

The rest of the winter will be spent designing and finding equipment for our next build.

I recently bought a 1993 van.
Now I'm fixin' all the little things;
5 new tires
new turn signal switch.
new oil
new antifreeze
flush the brake system
engine & house battery
Install a water heater bypass and winterize the fresh water system.
Etc. Etc. Etc.

We've started booking dates for next summer, had to wait till this week. Bought up Memorial Day in case the campground is free of snow. Last spring it wasn't. At least it gives us some days to plop down on the calendar and plan for. Doug
