Another Newcomer

Great forum!!! After lurking in the background for over a month soaking up as much collective knowledge as I could I decided to join.
So many decisions!!! I have finally made a couple. First one was to build a tear. Second was to order an axle.
I agonized over new or salvage for weeks and after checking on Dexter # 9 yesterday it was a no brainer to me. Delivered to my door $136.81 including hubs. I ordered it this morning. I don’t feel I can mess around modifying one and run the chance it wouldn’t be what I want for that price.
I am sure I will have questions later but most have been answered if I look back far enough for them. Mostly I can see that decision making is the hardest part of teardrop building. And Yes Jack I will try with the pics.

As far as making decisions and changing your mind a million times...I've found that to be normal TD behavior. Just remember, you can always do things differently on your 2nd..3rd..4th build.

This list does tend to be addictive. It's easy to get caught up in the enthusiasm of trailer building. One thing that I find interesting is how many people don't believe that you can build your own trailer. To them is sounds as practical as building a backyard nuclear reactor. Once you show them a picture, they immediately fall in love.

Glad to hear that pictures are on the way! While we are waiting for pictures of you new axle, you could post a picture of something else interesting. Heck, maybe your backyard or even your dog. We aren't picky about what pictures you post, there just has to be plenty of 'em!

Welcome Bodyman!
I guess by the name you are a body builder or a body repair person. I suppose you do welding. I looked up Dexter and noticed they have kits but the price is very close to the price of a bolt together HF.

Welcome aboard. Hope you have your funny hat on because we also like to have a lot of fun. And I wouldn't worry about having to look way far back for an answer. Most everything comes up more than once and gets answered. But if you can't find something, just ask and answers will flow forth. The hardest thing after asking a question sometimes is figuring out the best answer because with some questions you'll get several different answers. Some good, some bad and others way off in a different direction. But like that, ask and you shale receive.

As far as the axle Midwest Wheel- Cedar Rapids, Ia. Nice people in midwest I think he gave me a business discount without asking for it. Also I have no problem waiting three weeks for on a stock order and they deliver in my town twice a week.
I ordered a 1500 pound axle, 10% above, 73 1/2 hub face, and 58 1/2 frame mount, no brake flange, 5 on 4.5. Should work on a 5 wide???
