Ok; I think it's time to step away from the computer and go to sleep.
We are up way too late. 500 501 What ever it takes.

They work pretty good inside of a tent/cabin/shelter, where the heat would probably be appreciated at times, but outside is another matter.

There is a 508 and a 424 on shopgoodwill.com.

It does work well for a 12" skillet for chicken and bacon for larger crowds. I did it since those type of foods gunked up the regular suitcase stoves.

Just thinking...Denios would be a great outing for many of us in the area to meet up and get to know each other at.....After all....Kirk has the wagon to haul all our finds in.....Just thinking....Doug

I even have a hitch on the back of the CRV to link other wagons. 8)

I would possibly drive over for that. The only problem is we would have to set up ground rules on who gets the coleman.
Maybe first to see it get first right of refusal. Or first to touch it gets it.

Boxes don't matter to me unless it was real nice.

Decent boxes can lend a lot to the history of a piece. Stamping of its original point of sale and price can tell much of a lanterns past. Not to mention an original box can add value to many collectors.

Are you really sure you want to burn all those boxes Kirk?

No I am not sure . When I buy a piece of Coleman history I am drawn in by the box! But much to the dismay of many here I do have limits. This is a tough one for me. Lantern boxes I can flush, its the stove boxes that I toil with. Crap why cant people just shuck the box when they buy it like everyone else. Then us people in the future wouldnt have this torture. Ok I will save them for now. Maybe.

Once the box is opened - the mystique is gone - Kinda like taking the star wars action figure out of the box to play with it - the value has gone down somewhat - But again, I do not give much value to cardboard boxes anyways ;)

Kirk

I have a real ratty looking box but I ain't getting rid of it. Inside is an unburned 220 from the early 50's and all the original packing material in good shape. I forgot exactly what date and I don't want to unpack the lantern to many times.

Starting to sound like unrequited love or something.

What if I dip the box in acrylic varnish to preserve it. Is it better or worse off. The box did protect and keep the stove safe and warm for === lets see===== about 63 years. So maybe I should keep it . But now its fragile and separating. If I keep it should I try to improve it? I want to actually use the stove. Shelf Queens ---- not here.
