I know It's not really Camping equipment. But; I just wanted to share a picture of my 1920's QC lamp.
This has been just sitting in my house for a few years. Tonight I thought to try fixing it.
When taking it out to my work bench; I decided instead of a total disassemble that I would try to light it.
So; I put on some mantels and filled it with fuel and she lit up for me!

That is really nice! I'm just learning about these. When were they made..they actually look Edwardian. I'm assuming it was the 20's..and the market for these was more rural houses that did not have electricity yet, and areas where electricity was a bit 'spotty' (like the mountains, midwest due to inclement weather, etc.)

I think I've heard about them for years but didn't realize they were Coleman.

Sure is better looking than a Yankee Candle when you lose power!!

The CQ lamp above is between 1920 and 1925.

After this lamp went so well I did the same thing to another lamp of mine. Here is my 1935 Coleman Model 133.

Amazing that the shades lasted so long without getting broken!

It would be interesting to see the different styles for the decades..How long did they make these lamps?

Very well done Lee....Those are killer...I don't have any lamps like that! I spent the evening rassling around with a new garage door opener. Doug

They made the lamps for many years. I think up untill the late fourties or early fifties.

My lamp shade are Reproductions. I paid more for them than the lamps.LOL You can find a lamp for 10-20 dollars fairly easy. the shades are 40-80 for repops and can be more for originals.

Nice looking lamps guys. I was bidding on one but I have kind of put that aside. New thread coming up.

Slow. when my toes get cold here at the computer desk I will sometimes light up a small lantern and put between my feet.

Ain't it wonderful being a bachelor? ( well sometimes it is )

Dang Govmint and their Rural Electrification. If it wasn't for them we would be knee deep and then some with them cool table lamps.
