Door mount privacy curtain/tent????

Postby suckerpunched » Fri Dec 09, 2011 6:52 pm

Hey all,,,was thinking last time I camped that it would be nice to have a way to climb out of the trailer in the morning and get dressed standing up,,,,or get ready for bed at nite. I have seen privacy curtains here and just need some ideas as to how you made them.
Thanks,,,,TC

There are dozens of other threads....You need to search "curtains" or side tents...When you do our search you need to type: side AND tents just like that. :D

The wife and I have been collecting bits and pieces for our trailer and hoping to start building soon. One of the things we've talked about is a changing room. When we tent camp it isn't a problem, just stand in the tent and change. The teardrop will be a bit short even for us. Something like a 3 x 3 x 6 tent that snaps to the trailer would be great.

One idea we've had that I'm sure someone has tried before is a roof rack with sliders. Basically the cross bars of the roof rack would have an inner tube that slides out with a cross brace attached. Then simply hang a curtain from it. We were thinking the rack might be able to support a couple of bicycles or something light. We're still a long way from trying it since we need to build the trailer first.

Steve, That is a good idea and I have seen it done with PVC pipe as well. The people used shower curtain hangers and shower curtains with weights (pipe or whatever) in the bottom of them to hold them down. I have also seen polytarp and tent fabric used.
