This might help. You can see actual pictures of some of the sites by looking here and clicking on the blue numbered sites:

http://www.antlersrvpark.com/RV_Site_Pictures.html

I think most of us usually take the'A##' (normally tent) sites and you can't see pictures of those; but, you can get a fairly good idea that the place is pretty roomy.

But don't take #23. That's reserved for me.

The left hand loop (sites #73-#115) are for motorhomes & full-size RVs during this event.
BTW, the "tent" sites behind that loop are pretty nice ... if you prefer to be a bit more secluded. We've had a few TDrs camp back there ...

Slow

Hey if anyone is traveling through Slow's neck of the wilderness perhaps they can meet up and caravan to the gathering. That might make it easier for Slow to get there ;)

I signed up for the gatthering today, ordered a couple of T-shirts, & paid all the fees.

I am looking forward to going and meeting many of the people that participate in the forum.
I am also interested in seeing their trailer builds.

I sent my payment in for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. My wife and I drove up this year, (2011) to check it out. We enjoyed meeting the folks there. In 2012 we will bring my finished "Silver Nugget" TD.

I know this will be a really great outing. We are looking forward to meeting more of you. :D

Terryjones1: How are you getting there from here? I'm down the road from you...are you headed down 80 and over 5? or is there a shortcut? I'm not originally from here, so I don't know all the secrets of getting around....

I will probably go North on 65.
Then, I will go North on 70.
Next, I will go North on 149; then, North on 99.
I will then go North on I5 at Red Bluff.

If you are in Sacramento, then, just go to I5 then go North.

If you are going to have a "dam good time" shouldn't it be the Gathering of the Dam Tears?
Just sounds better that way (to me)

Thanks Terryjones! I'm in Roseville, so it's pretty easy to get to 5 from here.

What area is most concentrated with tears at the gathering? I want to reserve, but have no idea where 'most' camp. I don't want to reserve and find out the gathering is 'over there' and I'm 'over here'...

We do things different here on the West Coast. You don't reserve unless the organizer states to do so. Just go HERE and feel out the registration and submit it. Grant has everything already blocked off for the teardrops.

You don't reserve spots. you just pick one when yo get there. Usually with the people that you enjoy hanging with 24/7 .

Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

Thanks for the info...I believe the Sunhopper wants to camp next to me, so we'll work something out. He's in Jefferson State so he'll probably get there before me and can save a spot(?)..

Lee: you know I don't know anyone but you and Suellen...so I'm winging it here. It may be my first time out with that trailer.

I saw all kinds of stuff on DO extravaganza, Chili cookoff, Next Cast Iron Chef...Since I'm new, keep me informed on what I need to do to pull my own weight at the gathering.

Really looking forward to bringing my Grasshopper back to the dam gathering. I'll be new, but many of you have already seen my trailer!!

Oh boy, can't wait for the fun to beguin. I'm looking forward to seeing Slow, 'cause I want to see what a real cowboy looks like. Slow, we've been reading your posts with anxious expectation and I often get a glimps of what life would be like, without the alarm clock, crowded freeways and worries about perhaps getting laid off from a job. So Slow, you better plan on gittn' there and meet all of those nice people.

Now Grant, since I will not be hauling a "towed teardrop", (As my 3 footer is suspended off of my hitch reciever and has no wheels), I suppose my camping fee will be only 1/2 of what I would have to pay for both the car and a towed TD. Then there is a matter of an additional price reduction because of my Senior Discount, Ex-military, Ex boyscout leader, Ex Postal mail carrier, Retired peace officer, and only a few months from being an Octogenarian...........Hmmm, as a matter of fact, it might turn out that you might owe me some money when I arrive. :-)

Bottom line, I wouldn't miss this event, no matter what. Lets see, 1000 miles each way, at 40 mpg. that's 50 gallons at about $3.50 a gallon, which comes to only about 175 bucks, wow, what a bargain. Again, can't wait to see old friends and hopefully Slowcowboy, at last.
