I've been meaning to ask. What parts did it take to convert you 200A to Kerosene? did you order then from old colman parts?

the newsletter alone is worth the cost if you enjoy Coleman history and trivia. Then there are the annual conventions and such. And the aforementioned lantern (which I can hardly wait to get )

Hey LazyB

You missed the best weather they ever had at BM this year. I am going to try to make it in 2012 also.

I just had to replace the generator and put the alcohol cup in, and a method of getting the alcohol into the cup. I ordered all the stuff from Coleman. Their prices and shipping was not at all bad, and it got here in less than a week. really surprised me. Generator, cup and bottle all in stock.

I managed to change it over without breaking the mantle so I have not yet tried the Peerless one I got. Looking forward to that but not at the expense of trashing a perfectly working mantle.

I'll give you guys some advance notice that the Texas Chapter of the Coleman collectors is meeting at our church expansion in mid March - we have hookups for a few campers plus an outdoor pavilion with kitchen. Come on if you can make it (here is your chance for some advance planning). If it is like the last one, there will be more Coleman stuff than you can shake a stick at!

I washed the lantern and cleaned out the fount last night. Thenlet it dry while I slept. This morning fuel went in new mantles on and she lit tight up. She's been burning strong for about 45 minutes now.

Man i want a big hat so bad. ( one I can burn regularly, not burning my L227 often ) I have almost pulled the trigger on some 228s on the bay. But now that I just bought an over priced new kerosene with fancy writing on the globe will have to wait it out and find one in the wild. But then isn't that really a lot more fun?

Nice burner you got there.

Hey, just got an idea, so you better run for cover. How about making some globes up for us Burners?

I've been lucky enough to have found three 228s now. I like the big topped lanterns. It is much more fun to find them in the wild!

It would be fun to have a special globe.

I guess I have done pretty good for this area, so far found in the wild is a 1927 L227, a 530 stove and a Mil Spec from 1958, a 1948 220 that is almost like new and a 1953 220 that I doubt if it has been fire up more than once and then put back in the box. It might not have even been fired up that one time.

For this small population area that is probably pretty good. I have also gotten some other 220s here, a 242 from 1944 and a 1969 200A. A mess of 413 stoves, some 425s and a 3H, almost forgot that one.
