New guy in Ohio.

I have always been interested in camping and love the idea of teardrop trailers.I recently bought a new 19ft Palomino Puma.Its a bit heavy on gas for across country trips so I will probably start a Teardrop in the spring.I have been thinking about going the TY-DEAN way,have any of you experts ever used those plans.Thanks for this great site.

Thanks for answering so soon.I just looked at the plans for the Benroy.Nice T/D I noticed it was for a 5x8, my HF trailer is 4x8. I would like the extra width but dont really want or need to buy another wider trailer.Thanks once again.George AKA albion2

You don't need to buy another trailer. There are tons of builds on this site that are 5x8 on a harbor freight trailer. Building out over the wheels is one solution that is used all the time. I am sure some of these people will be chiming in shortly.

As soon as I get my Christmas candy finished this evening, I plan to check out the Ty-Dean. Thanks for posting it.

....I have been looking at the TY DEAN as it look like an easier build, as the galley hatch is not curved.

Welcome to the madness from a fellow Buckeye. We live up near Toledo and ours is a 6X10. Quite frankly I have known very few that built a four wide that did not wish they had gone to at least a five wide.
You might want to consider joining Tearjerkers (see link at top of page), the Buckeye chapter is quite active. Depending on where you live in Ohio there are a number of us that you could contact if you want to see what a teardrop looks like up close and personal. There are a couple of teardrop manufacturers in Ohio, Littleguy in Massilon and Lefty Originals in Toledo.
