Bethany Crusader trailer

Hi All, I'm posting this for a friend...

Rob

I’m searching for information about Bethany Crusader trailers.

They were built in Minneapolis Minnesota, from at least 1948 to 1950, possibly before, and after as well?

I own two nice examples, a 1948, and 1950 model, both are 16’ long.

The construction on these trailers is exceptional!
The skin is riveted aircraft aluminum.
The body framing is aluminum, and the frame (chassis) is aluminum.
Only the axle is steel!

If you own one of these neat trailers, know where one is, or have any information about the company, I’d sure love to hear from you!
I’ve been searching for years, and so far have come up empty handed...

Here is a picture of one of them,

If you’d like to see the interior, and other shots, like the cool tail lights, please click

Thanks!

Madjack, those are "masked" lights; check school bus supply places.

I'd very much like to have one of those. Very interesting. Sorry, I know nothing about them except what I saw on the link. Had not even heard of the Bethany Crusader before now.

There is a vintage travel trailer library back in the Midwest somewhere and they have a web site. I'll see if I can find it.

Have a good day.

Jack,

They are pretty cool...I watched a similar pair on E bay go for a couple hundred a few years ago
Laredo is right, school bus supply places are a possible source, though just recently, I saw a really nice set on the back of an ambulance...they looked like high dollar lamps, but were the best looking ones I'd ever seen!

Here is a link to a site showing a number of neat old "arrow" lights.

Gage,

Thanks for the tip!

The RV. museum is a great place to do research.

As far as I know, Conrad has looked there, but I'll pass it on to him.

Thanks

Rob

Well,

I found some pretty neat info for Conrad...but the file is PDF, and he can't open it.
He tried to install Adobe reader, but has not been successful...he's not a computer person.

Any ideas how I can copy and send in another format?
The file has text, and photos.
If I try to copy the text, it is near unreadable because it was wrapped around the photos.

The pages I need are #6 and #7

http://www.bethanyinternational.org/pdf ... er2005.pdf

Any help is appreciated!

The history is pretty neat, a religious group built these trailers to help fund their mission.
Says they began with a "teardrop" shaped aluminum trailer, and then quickly shifted to house trailers.
No real clarification on "teardrop shaped"??
They also appear to have built pop up campers.
It could be that the teardrop shaped trailers are the ones Conrad has?

Rob, you might try printing pages 6 & 7. You could then scan them and save as jpegs.

I probably could...if I knew what the snapshot feature was

I did try to print them so I could scan, but that wouldn't work either...

What happened to Kevin A's post. I was trying to respond to it and every thing went bonkers :? Any ways, that's what I was going to suggest.

Have a good day.

Well, truth be told, I found the snapshot button as well as the page select buttons after I posted, so I deleted my original post so I could modify it before it was responded to. I didn't know you guys were gonna jump all over my oversight ;)

Gage, This probably isn't what you are talking about, but there is a vintage trailer place near me.

Rob,

Here you are - those two pages as GIFs - if you download them, they should be viewable in any browser. They are as readable as the originals, so these are not small files - about 0.5 Mbyte each.

http://www.angib.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/i ... any-p6.gif
http://www.angib.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/i ... any-p7.gif

Please download and save them as I will need to delete them in a few days to make space on my web site.

Andrew

On edit: these files are now deleted.

Andrew,

Thank you!!

I have them saved, so you can delete them any time

I finally got smart and mailed the URL to my son (from the shop to the house) and he printed them off with no trouble...

Why my computer wouldn't is a mystery?
Guess its time to update again.

Thanks for all the time spent on the project!

Rob
