Teardrop Lantern Storage

Postby Moho » Mon Dec 26, 2011 1:45 pm

Thought I might share how I will be storing my lantern's in my Teardrop. I want to make everything in the teardrop self contained, so in the rare event I have to drop it and park the tow vehicle elsewhere there is nothing I have to do but drop it and go.

I plan on taking 2 lanterns and this is what I came up with for the storage of them. I made one cabinet space large enough to hold 2 big hat coleman lanterns. I took a peice of 3/4 mdf, and traced the outline of the big and small fount coleman's on them. I then routed them out just as a lantern case and will use those little bungie cords (that you never have use for) to secure them.

Pictures are below of the rough model. I will be cleaning up the edges and putting felt around the base areas. I will also not be using screws but small u nails for the cords, so when the lanterns are out it is useable storage space with nothing for things to snag on. This should hold them safe and secure without bouncing around and can take whichever two of my lanterns I want to take :)
