if you install a 30 amp power cord and need to plug it into a 120 volt 15 amp receptacle they make an adapter for that
in fact they make one that allows you to plug into a 50 amp receptacle as well.

most if not all panel boxes only work with their own breakers, old used breakers do wear out so I too would use new ones specific for that panel box.
