McBride, beautiful area to be in. 1st the plan then the build. Pics will be fine as that's one of the top of the list reasons for the build ... to get a bit farther out there to take landscape and nature pics.

Welcome to the forum allan. Im thinking of building a light camper for my nissan frontier. Are you thinking popup or full sized? I want to build a cabover popup to keep a low profile. I'll be watching your build.Hope you enjoy the forum. I'm a shutter bug too.

It will be a pop up cabover (I think). Main reason is that I have to take ferries to be somewhere else and they charge extra for overheight (84" from ground) and extra for over length (reason why not teardrop at this time). I'm just starting to plan, which for me is to design the Taj Mahal and then build to rural straightforward. This site is a wealth of information. Hope to connect with other design addicts here.

Well, I'm on my 3rd model and still enjoying it. Trying to figure out how to mix foam filled torsion box for the main body and just foam for the pop up part. The lack of know how to do something has me doing a lot of research but it is interesting. For example a 'build your own surf board' website is giving me some info on improving tensile strength in foam without a lot of added weight. I think the same idea could be used to get a nice flair on the roof so the coast sunshine can run off easily - but I may be reinventing the wheel and need to go back and read more on this site. And there are so many details and things to consider which effects the design (water, heat, propane?, 12volt,etc). I figure that I have until March to get the design down, then build. Wish the boss would just mail the cheque and leave me alone to get this done.
