HF trailers not available!

Postby Indiana Dave » Sat Dec 31, 2011 12:43 pm

I decided to pull the trigger and buy a new HF trailer. Called the local store and was told that all trailers had to be sent back and future ones may not be available for another month.
just to be sure I called another store and was told the same thing.
Darn just when I was ready to commit I am shot down.
the employees did not know what the recall was for although they didn't use the word recall though.
Oh well I will stay on the hunt for something local.

if anyone else has info let me know.

I knew that. I posted it in my build thread, but I really should have started a new thread like you did.

But anyways, that's exactly what I heard here too!

They should honor that coupon since they do not have it in stock with a deposit. They did not discontinue it, it's just out of stock. But isn't it 25% only on New Years Day?

ran into the same thing. Amazing how I called every store in my area just a few days ago to make sure they were in stock so i could grab one Sunday. They all had them at the time. i called back today and got mixed answers of why nobody had them.

I think HF is just pulling them for the 25% sale. :x

The 4x8' heavy-duty 94564 is still showing as available online, but the 25% coupon probably wouldn't cover the freight shipping fee.....

I'll bet it's just because of the 25% coupon for New Year's Day shopping only. I'm sure HF has found out that a lot of teardroppers like their trailer and use their coupons. 25% off with a lot of trailer purchases would be a big financial hit for them.

Wouldn't suprise me if they add trailers to the %off coupons from here on out.

I asked the manager the same question and he said he didn't know but could probably find out. I told him not to bother.

I would call them just to be on the safe side. Let us know what you find
out.

this is still better than if you got the letter 3 months from now that could state the frames are suspect as the supplier used sub-grade steel, then how would you feel....

Is the Northern Tool trailer the same? I was curious what the extra $ bought you. Is the axle the same and use the same hard to find bearings? I've been thinking about the 5-wide for my next built.

I just got my new frame back in October. Wonder if I have a "suspect" kit. Hmmm. Oh well. With as many extra bolts and fasteners that I used to attach the wood framing and the sides to the steel frame, I have faith that I'll be alright. It would still be interesting to know the reasoning for the "recall".

The bearings actually arent that hard to find. Just need to know what to look for. The grease seals can be ordered online for a few bucks too.
