I was headed to three rivers Michigan tuesday to the cargo trailer factory to order my trailer
when I happened to read the following from the weather service:

The Michigan warning was due to begin at noon Sunday and last until 7 p.m. ET Monday.
"In addition to the snowfall, wind gusts over 35 mph will be common through Monday,
resulting in considerable blowing and drifting snow and blizzard conditions at times,
especially downwind of Lake Michigan," the NWS said in the warning notice.
Near zero visibility It said poor driving conditions were expected
as "visibilities will drop to near zero at times within heavier snow showers."
The snow and winds would likely "make travel very hazardous or impossible," the notice added.
The NWS also warned that 8 to 14 inches of snow, "with locally higher amounts,".

Happy New year Mike..............Pete

Pete,

I can feel it coming in, the cold and the wind. I gotta hurry up and get a quick bike ride in before it starts.

When I come back I'll post an interior picture or two.

Okay, here's the interior shots.

That's just one coat you see there. It still needs another light coat!

that sure is a nice color.

mike, when you get a chance, could you take a pic closer up of the wall and roof. i can't see your overlapping of canvas and i would like to see how neat of a job you did.

Tell me how you did it. Chell tried to hang a piece of canvas this morning, and gave up in frustration, ripping the canvas down and throwing it away.

So I tried. I quickly realized that the latex enamel paint wasn't going to hold the canvas up without some help. So I dug up some stick pins. Relief! Using stick pins every 12 inches or so helped me keep the canvas in place until the paint dried sufficiently to hold the canvas in place!!! The stick pins became even more important, the more overhead we were.

Nearing the home stretch. This morning I thought I could crank this out in a few hours or so. The reality. It took all day, many beers, dinner out... But I gotta tell you, once the paint dried, the canvas was definitely stuck to the foam. There was no pulling it down!

It was a royal pain in the a$$. I really had to get in there and work the paint. Here's the proof!!!

Mike...

P.S. Again I ask you Eagle, how did you do it?

P.P.S. Chell has decided to paint the interior lavender. I'll have some pics for you in the next day or so...

hmm, i see you have the white stuff on top of the canvas? is that the edge of the canvas and then you are using the paint on top of the edge to hold down?

i guess what i am asking for is a good pic of your canvas edging and the overlapping.
i know on mine, its no where as neat looking as yours, and yours seam areas really don't show. is your paint just covering it? also, is that just paint or is it primer?

First of all, the white stuff is exterior latex enamel. I didn't use primer. Yes, I used the white paint on the edges to hold it down.

Here's a couple closeups. The seams were a little bit ragged after being run through the dryer, but I just cut off the loose strings and ran with it. It's kinda reminiscent of cutoff bluejeans, which lends a nice casual atmosphere to the interior.

Image

The edges I cut every so often so that they would overlap. Chell wasn't happy about that. She wanted to just roll it over and paint it down. But the problem is that is was not laying flat. So by cutting it, it stayed flat.

Mike , just an idea , you might be able to flatten those seams even more with a hot iron , maybe use a piece of cloth in between as barrier to prevent any damage to the paint ... (pressing cloth) Worth a test anyway , we know it works with T2...

That is a very Neat job !! 8)
