State of the Art Expensive Foamies ....

OK, since some of us want the very Latest and Best Foamies ... here’s the place to talk about it !!!!

I’d like to start the ball by saying that foam comes in many different densities and materials ... For a really solid foam , one might look up EPP Foam ... Tough , Pricy , resists most solvents , and not delicate at all ... the stuff new car bumpers are made of ... Very Expensive , hard to get ... but worth it if you want the very Toughest material ...
Not to mention the use of woven Carbon Fiber and Kevlar cloths for “skinsâ€

If money is no object, then I would use proper structural foam, purpose-made to be the core in a sandwich structure. A couple of the best are:
Divynicell
Corecell

Both of these need structural skins, but they are so strong that 3/8" or 1/2" thickness is all that is required.

Here’s a material that nobody’s mentioned yet .... Spectra.. we tried some a few years back (planes) and it was extremely TOUGH ... Impossible to cut with scissors ..
