Hello from NC! I've been lurking on this board for quite some time, just gathering ideas...
I'd been looking into converting a small cargo trailer for mild off road /camping and hauling my motorcycle. I just bought a 5'W x 8'L x 5'H 2004 Cargo Craft trailer that the previous owner had started converting for camping...He had to give it up due to medical reasons, and the fact that he and his wife already own a 32' camper.
The trailer has been wired for shore power, by an RV dealer, with a 30 amp breaker and two 110 outlets. It has also been wired with an inverter, two lights in the ceiling, and a roof vent with a thermostatically controlled fan.
The trailer has what I believe is a 2,000 lbs. axle and springs; I plan on upgrading the axle to one rated for 3,500 lbs. with brake flanges , but keeping the 2,000lbs. springs, and adding some shocks. I'm planning on giving the trailer a little more ground clearance with some longer shackles; and hopefully with some larger fenders I'll have enough for clearance for some 30/9.5/15's...
