Well I did it I just pulled the pin this is what I bought from Amazon Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera and DIGIC 4 Imaging with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens They had a deal free money for 12 months I dont even have to reach in my pocket and it will be payed off long before 12 months

You will have a blast with this! I have the original T1i with the kit lens and just upgraded my lens to Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. Lots of fun.

Been a full time professional photographer for over 20 years. Either, Nikon or Canon, are excellent choices. I shoot Nikon now but had Canon and Fuji in the not too distant past. I'm waiting to upgrade to the latest Pro Nikons as I write. If I were you I would try and wait a bit. The problems in Japan last year really slowed production and release of new models. They should appear soon. If you need it now. The Nikon D7000 will do everything almost anyone could need, and you won't outgrow it for quite awhile, if ever.

It's useful to read the entire thread, or at least the last bit of it, before replying. If you had done so, you'd have learned that Steve bought a Canon T3i through Amazon and it should have arrived today.

But I agree the D7000 is a very capable camera, and I'm a Canon guy

I got the camera today WOW this thing is way cool. Damn it is smarter than I am which is not giving it enough credit its really smart. I think it will do just fine. I got to get back to reading the manual.

This camera is really cool and I think easier to navagate through then the Sony point and shoot. So I took a picture of a scrap wood project I just finished .. A glue shadow showed in the picture that I hadnt even noticed . It would bug the hell out of me out comes the sand paper refinishing it all ready

I am with you the capabilities are endless so much I dont understand .. The soft wear that comes with it is amazing it also has me confused .. But I dont have to figure it on in a day .. I am anxious to play and learn
