One of the issues is storage. If I was going to try this it would be with a ministorage unit and a gym membership.

I think people do it just not forever.

There is a guy on the Camp Inn site who goes by "Bear" that has lived full time in his teardrop. This is his 6th year. He has a blog somewhere. Maybe someone can chime in with it.

There's an entire community of van dwellers on yahoo who live in various sized vehicles. It can be done and pretty well. Less is more in a lot of ways.

The winter warrior was my first thought, but someone coming off a nasty divorce, and possibly needing relatively quick housing, the weekender might be a better starting point.

And if the need is immediate, then a plywood box would be a better choice yet.

I was sure I could live in my teardrop trailer when I started. Last year was a very nasty year for weather. So after 7 months I bought a 59 Aloha travel trailer. I could not take it anymore. It can be done however. If the weather is nice like it is in Quartzsite, AZ then it would be a blast. I did not know Quartzsite would be so cool to hang out. Weather is fantastic. What ever you decide to do it can be made to work.

If i was in a situation where I knew i was going to have limited income, but still had 2 or 3 grand, I would buy an 30-35 ft travel trailer, maybe a late 80's or 90's model. They are dirt cheap.

I lived in one for about 5 years, paid 3000 for it and when I moved I sold it for 800 just to get rid of fast. Lot rent was around 125 a month.

In addition to Bear, there is also a gal who has lived in her Camp-Inn since August. She travels all over the U.S. Another gal has mostly lived in hers over the past 16 months. She, too, travels all over the U.S.
