actually I don't troll through all the posts.. in fact I comment on very little and only about things I actually know something about.. when it's something I'm not too sure of I make sure to say so..
Maybe if you made other comments of an encouraging or just plain "friendly" nature every once in awhile, it may not appear so much like you are trolling.

I suggest marine ply for good reason then get jumped on because "it's too expensive"
I don't really think anyone jumps on you. If someone comes back and says it's too expensive, maybe that just means it's too expensive
for them. At that point why can't you just respect that fact and drop it. There are probably others that read your information and run right out and buy marine plywood. Some of us do use it, some of us don't. Some can afford it, some can't. (Some probably live in areas where it isn't even available.) Some dream of passing their teardrop down to their grandchildren, some don't care if it lasts beyond the next couple of seasons and are already planning what they will build on that same frame when their current camper starts to fall apart.

Jumped on.....really??

I inform people that CPES is nothing more that thinned epoxy and they can do it themselves at half the price and get jumped on for it...
WE ALL KNOW THAT CPES IS THINNED EPOXY. In the first place, it's pretty self-evident. In the second place the information on the CPES sites clearly state this fact and in the third place you have been making sure you bombard us with this fact on every single post that has anything to do with CPES for months now.
And I know we can make our own. But maybe I would just prefer to leave the thinning to the experts, and am willing to pay for it, even if 80% of what I'm paying is for solvents. I personally do not want to play chemist on something that is so important to me, regardless of how easy you say it is. I am willing to spend that extra amount on the CPES knowing that their R&D people have done all the hard stuff to make sure that what I am using is going to work exactly the way I expect it to. I have been using CPES for many years on boats and have always gotten the desired result. I trust it. I might not feel that confident about a home brew. Again, it's individual choice and there is absolutely no reason, on a forum that is meant to be a safe, friendly and supportive place, to try and make people feel stupid for the individual choices they make.
You try so hard to make it sound like using CPES is a BAD or stupid thing. It's expensive, granted. I'm sure it's not necessary and is absolutely overkill in a lot of areas where some of us use it. But I don't think it's doing our trailer any harm and if that's what we want to use, what is that to you?

I'm not selling anything here and I'm not making anything here, I spend my time for free to give my opinion in the hopes it may help someone out and that's it.. what irks me is people with a weeks worth of experience or advice from their cousin Bob come back at me with crap like "there's no right way or wrong way".. well if that's the case then I'm wasting my time aren't I?
I think that statement about being irked by people on the forum with "a weeks worth of experience" was uncalled for. Even if that's the true experience level of some, the way you state it is offensive. People come here for CONSTRUCTIVE AND SUPPORTIVE help. Not to be made feel like idiots. And besides, Cousin Bob may just be an expert for all you know. While it's true there are a lot of newbies on here with no experience, there are also a LOT of folks with a great deal of experience in every field from contruction to engineering to boat building and commercial trailer manufacturing and everything in between. They all offer their opinions and information in a respectful and friendly manner and I have never been offended by any of their posts and am always very interested in and look forward to hearing what they have to say. (However, most of them also welcome people to the forum, encourage new ideas, congratulate people on their successes and offer constructive ideas to try and help other members overcome their failures without any attempt to make them feel stupid.)
The sharing of good information is never a waste of time, and you have shared some good information. While I can't speak for anyone else, I think that the purpose of a forum like this is to share ideas and information so that once armed with that information people can then decide what works for them personally, and what doesn't, what they like and what they don't, what they can afford and what they're willing to do without or cut corners on just so that they can have a trailer, and then make their own individual choices. What
IS a waste of time, and has no place on a forum like this (in my humble opinion), are posts that are contrived to make people look and feel ignorant or in some way inferior because they chose to go with a different method than the one you propose.
But these forums are also a place to form friendships between people who share a common interest. It should go beyond the sharing of facts about chemical compositions of this and expense of that to also be a place where we encourage and lift each other up and also respect each others individuality and creativity. A lot of people on this forum actually SEE each other and participate in events together. It's a gathering of friends as well as a place to discuss contruction and designs. Unfriendly rhetoric just doesn't fit in here in my opinion.
I think when people say "there is no right way or wrong way" it is because we know that you cannot possibly know the objective, skill, experience or resources of everyone else on the forum. And because there are more than just a couple of possible ways to arrive at the same (or similar) result. And because different people want different things out of their camper. (By the way, I realize that comment was probably directed at me as I use this phrase a lot. Just for the record, I have 30 years working with fiberglass in a boating environment. That's why it's my material of choice for a lot of my build. And I don't have a cousin named Bob.)

CPES is the greatest, glue and seal everything with epoxy, build it so you can park a truck on it, and marine ply is too much money.. have I got that about right?
Why does it bother you so much if that's what we choose to use? We certainly don't do it with the purpose of causing you a personal affront. If that's the method we prefer why can't you just respect that and move on.
