anyone with just one door? If so how wide is your trailer?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

My ttt only has 1extra door. It is 4ft wide. It hasn't been an issue yet. My wife and I love it! I figured I could always add another door in the future if needed.

Hmmm I know I posted on this the other day...

Both of my builds only used 1 door. The first lil vardo had a passenger side door, and the 2nd lil vardo had a forward faceing door. I think its an interesting idea but I think most people do tend to regularly use the 1 "main" door and occasionally use the 2nd door. Look at peoples photo's of their camp setup, most have an awning or something set up on 1 side.

I guess Bob made a good point, if your the last one in, first one up then 1 door isnt a big deal. I dont sleep a whole lot, and have never dated anyone who slept less then me so Im not worried about it, and I think if my partner was moveing around I would wake up from that.

My old Jim Dandy style teardrop has only one door. It is 57" wide. Keep in mind that virtually all of the commercially manufactured tiny trailers, standies, canned hams, fiberglass Scamps and so forth have only one door. Build what you want for your own needs.

My first post here, but I've been learning lots from this forum - thanks so much! Mine is a one-person setup, 7' by 42" wide. One door, on passenger side: http://www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=182729

I did some searching when deciding on 1 door or 2 for mine, and the prime reason for 2 seemed to be the "climb over your partner" argument. Us solo sleepers don't have that problem.

I love the older look of a kit type tear. Im going for the traditional look.
I just cut the doors, I say doors because after all this I went with two doors.
Thnaks for all the imput.

Now I need to get the walls up. ( soon ) I hope.

less doors = less work, lighter weight and less chance of a leak or falling out during the night. My Benroy has only one door, has never been a problem, have been using it for a couple of years now

Mini, Please tell me what you mean by less weight. Im not seeing it as my door will be made out of the wall.
thanks

I suppose the weight might be slightly affected by the door trim, hinge, and latch. It certainly would be less work not to have to build the second door and the leak potential is less.

To me the leak potential and work would be the biggest factors.

As has already been said. less trim etc etc.
Plus my trailer only has 3/8" sides which means framing arount the door aperture and a double skin door with internal framing. weight was the main issue with my trailer due to the 998cc tow car it was designed to be pulled by. I managed to get the trailer weight down to 200-250Kg ish
