Possible new teardrop builder in Huntington WV

Postby scottinwv » Sun Jan 08, 2012 2:37 pm

After picking up a book on vintage travel trailers at an estate sale, my curiosity got the best of me so I started surfing around and found this site. After a couple evening of viewing the build logs I was thoroughly bitten by the teardrop bug.

I'm hoping to start a 5x10 similar to the Atma Travelear this spring.

Welcome Scott. It's incurable. I only became infected last year but appear to be resistant to all attempts to rid me of the bug and at times have been contagious to others at well.

Be sure and start a build journal when you get your build started, and post any questions you might have. These kind people here have a wealth of knowledge between them and someone is always ready and willing to jump in and help you out.

Most of all, have fun!!

Hey Scott,
Welcome to T&TTT :applause: Only cure is building. I pm'd you my #'s so we can talk more about TearDrops. I built my first 3 yrs ago on a TSC frame, took me 4 months by myself and $1900.00! We also have a 1947 KenSkill which we use the most. We just Love our oldie but goodie. It won best Galley at the CRA 2011 in Indiana.
Our TearJerker chapter has a Fall Foliage Gathering, the past 2 yrs, the weekend after "Bridge Day". It's held at Mountain Lake Campground here in Summersville. If you go to their website you can check out alot of the campers and fun we had in 2011. Hope to hear from you soon.
