It appears to me that a large number of those are propane lanterns...and judging by the quality of light...some LED battery ones. Where does a line get drawn?

I do not have one, but I would say only white gas lights for the record attempt. I think that would be really cool to see.

starleen2 wrote:OK, for a matter of clarification - the "record" stands at 57 for a TD& TTT event done at LCG. I know that there are Coleman chapters where a few teardroppers show up and claim to have over "100+" lanterns at a teardrop Gathering. If that is the case, then we'll shatter that record in March when the Texas Coleman collectors gather and two teardrops show up along with two hundred Coleman lanterns.

I think that there is a difference between a "Teardrop Event" with a light up and "Coleman Event" with two teardrops.
Just my opinion.

I'll have to try and borrow a real Coleman lantern, I've always been a propane user.

Any thoughts about the set up? I think it would be great to actually spell out IRG 4.0 with them for the record attempt rather than just a big lineup :)

Spelling out IRG 4.0 is a great idea. Who's going to climb a giant tree to get the "money shot" on film?

I think, we had a running debate on that at the LCG...it came down to, if it said Coleman on the side it qualified...you always have to set rules...is it a "collectors" burn or a Coleman burn or a gas lantern burn or a camp lantern burn...if you don't watchout, you can get restrictive enough and end up with 3.2 lanterns...my personal take is, if you use it to light up your CAMPSITE and it is portable, it qualifies, whether it burns gas, propane, kerosene, wax or even batteries....

For some, it's like Jeeps or Harleys ... it's a white gas thing, if you have to ask, you still wouldn't understand.

We have Gas Coleman's and one LED Coleman.
I wouldn't think of including the LED one in the "Burn Off" as it doesn't burn fuel.

Just my opinion. :D Danny

Doug, leave all but 2 stoves at home and you can borrow 14 or so of mine
